Sheringham

Sheringham is a town steeped in history, from a small fishing village in Victorian times, it is now a popular residential haven and popular holiday resort as it has some of the best sandy beaches in East Anglia. It is ideal for those seeking a quieter holiday with many forms of sport and leasure persuits, within easy access; a wonderful links golf course, a splash pool, beautiful walks and bird watching near by, to name but a few.

Sheringham has a good selection of individual shops providing friendly service, a market on Saturdays and many pubs and restaurants. It also has a thriving "Little Theatre" with a summer rep. of proffessional actors and off season amateur plays and films.

The history of Sheringham is represented by 4 museums, including the famous "North Norfolk Poppy Steam Railway Line".

Sheringham has excellent rail connections, with the "Bittern Line" going from Sheringham to Norwich. Close to Sheringham and connected by the Poppy Line is the charming Georgion town of Holts and along the coast the seaside town of Cromer with its famous pier show.

Other attractions to this part of East Anglia are the National Trust properties of Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park, Blakeney Point Nature Reserve and Salthouse and Clay fo bird watching. The wonderful city of Norwich is 50 minutes away and there is also sea fishing and boat trips to see the seals and lovely seaside.
